Paul McCartney’s High in the Clouds Sets Voice Cast

Gaumont has set the voice cast for the upcoming film Paul McCartney’s High in the Clouds, including Himesh Patel (Yesterday), Céline Dion, Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Idris Elba (Luther) and many more.

Alongside Patel, Dion, Waddingham and Elba, stars include Lionel Richie, Jimmy Fallon (The Tonight Show), Clémence Poésy (Harry Potter), Pom Klementieff (Mission: Impossible–The Final Reckoning), Alain Chabat (Night at the Museum) and Ringo Starr, as well as McCartney himself.

The film is inspired by the children’s adventure book of the same name by McCartney, Geoff Dunbar and Philip Ardagh. The adaptation is being directed by Toby Genkel (The Amazing Maurice) and written by Jon Crocker (Paddington 2). Production design is being done by Patrick Hanenberger (Rise of the Guardians, LEGO Movie 2).

Paul McCartney’s High in the Clouds will feature original songs written and composed by McCartney, and Michael Giacchino (Ratatouille, Up, Inside Out, Coco) will score the film.

The film is being produced by Paul McCartney for MPL Communications; Robert Shaye and Michael Lynne for Unique Features; Sidonie Dumas, Nicolas Atlan and Terry Kalagian for Gaumont, in association with MPL Communications; Michele Anthony and David Blackman for Polygram Entertainment; Lemoko Investments; Sky and James L Nederlander Productions.

Gaumont Animation is producing the feature and partnering with the creative team at 88 Pictures (The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday, Spirit Untamed), which is in charge of key animation elements of the film.

It has already been sold to Sky UK in the U.K.; Constantin Film in German-speaking territories; Vertical/Monolith/AQS in Eastern Europe; Imagem in Latin America; Mint Films in CIS; Four Star in the Middle East; A Really Good Film in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong; Tanweer in Greece; Cinemundo in Portugal; Lev in Israel; and Acme in the Baltics.
