BBC natural history presenter Steve Backshall is to make his CBeebies debut in the new series Steve and Aneeshwar Go Wild.

The series follows Backshall and young environmentalist Aneeshwar Kunchala as they meet animals from all around the world in zoos and safari parks. In each episode, the pair comes face to face with two creatures and reveal to preschool-aged audiences the ways that they are connected in the wild.

The 20×5-minute series, produced by BBC Studios Natural History Unit, will be available on the CBeebies channel and BBC iPlayer from August 14.

“BBC Children’s plays a crucial role in educating, informing and entertaining children across the U.K.,” said Kate Morton, head of commissioning and acquisitions 0-6 for BBC Children’s. “Steve and Aneeshwar Go Wild is a shining example of our commitment to factual entertainment that does exactly that.”
