BBC Studios has revealed plans to launch BBC Kids in Korea as a monthly subscription service on KT Corporation’s Genie TV Kids Land.

The service will feature a mix of content in English and popular titles dubbed into Korean. The lineup will include over 300 episodes of kids’ shows, including Hey Duggee, Andy’s Global Adventures, Yakka Dee, Go Jetters, Sarah & Duck, My World Kitchen and more.

Season four of Hey Duggee will be exclusive to the new service, as will Andy’s Global Adventures.

Genie TV customers can add BBC Kids for 5,000 KRW ($3.70) per month to get unlimited access to the kids’ content.

“BBC Kids is going to bring the best of our children’s content to KT subscribers, and we’re so excited for even more of our young fans to enjoy learning through play with the BBC,” said Phil Hardman, senior VP and general manager of BBC Studios Asia. “The BBC has been educating, informing and entertaining the world for over 100 years, and BBC Kids continues our commitment to fostering early childhood development through this engaging and enriching content designed specifically for children. We’re confident that there is something for every family in the wide range of content we are making available on KT in both English and Korean.”

“With the launch of BBC Kids, Genie TV’s young audience can now enjoy a more diverse range of high-quality content,” commented Hoon-Bae Kim, head of the media platform business division at KT.

He added, “We will continue to strive to create a safe environment to deliver excellent content in the future.”
