Plimsoll Productions has acquired the U.S. and U.K. rights to Master Cleaners (Det Rene Vanvid), a new competition format from Danish independent production house Heartland TV.

Master Cleaners is a multi-round competition to name the ultimate Master Cleaner. Each contestant is challenged with a slew of dirty tasks before facing a panel of expert judges.

Represented by Magnify Media, a Plimsoll Productions company (part of ITV Studios), format rights have previously been licensed to The Oslo Company in Norway; ITV Studios in France; Bildergarten Entertainment in Germany; HEUS in the Netherlands; Lotus Production, a Leone Film Group company, in Italy; and Mediawan Finland. Rights are under negotiation for Australia.

Master Cleaners is relatable television gold; it’s a delightfully universal format that’s sure to appeal to both U.K. and U.S. markets,” said Karen Plumb, head of factual entertainment at Plimsoll Productions. “We are confident that the international versions will be as engaging and successful as the original Danish production.”
