Magnify Media has sold the North American streaming rights for Plimsoll Productions’ format Handmade: Good with Wood to discovery+.

The deal comes just before the British version of the format, Handmade: Britain’s Best Woodworker, launches on October 21. The format challenges the most talented woodworkers to create grand, imaginative wooden structures and objects, with each episode featuring multiple rounds.

Earlier in the year, Fremantle acquired the format production rights in over 20 territories including Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Hungary, Belgium North and South, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Poland, Israel, India, Indonesia, Mexico and Australia. The format has also been optioned to Germany, and the program rights have been presold into multiple territories, including Australia and Canada.

Andrea Jackson, CEO of Magnify Media, said: “The incredible global presale of Handmade: Good with Wood underscores both a significant appetite for premium unscripted content and an exciting trend to have streamers acquire U.K. factual series. We’re thrilled that viewers across the world will be able to experience the excitement of this competition and become inspired by the vision of these extraordinary artisans.”

Plimsoll Productions took full ownership of Magnify earlier this year, and the company has since scaled its slate with the launch of five new formats and 30 new completed titles.
