Forever Group in Myanmar has licensed the rights to produce its own version of the BBC Studios format juggernaut Dancing with the Stars.

The broadcast and production group will produce the entertainment show for free-to-air terrestrial network Myanmar Radio and Television 4 (MRTV-4), which it operates with the state-owned MRTV. A 15-episode season premieres this October on MRTV-4 with a simulcast on PYONE PLAY.

Myleeta Aga, senior VP and general manager of South and Southeast Asia at BBC Studios, commented, “Dancing with the Stars is our world-leading dance entertainment brand, and we are very pleased to be working with the Forever Group to produce a local version.”

“Dance, like music, is a universal form of expression, which could be why the BBC Studios format has been so successful around the world,” added Henri de Lorme, head of production at Forever Group. “We are very excited to be producing Dancing with the Stars Myanmar, and are confident of its success.”

Dancing with the Stars has now been sold to 57 countries worldwide.
