BBC Studios Sends Wisdom of the Crowd to Germany

BBC Studios has scored a second international license for Magnum Productions’ game-show format Wisdom of the Crowd, with Germany’s RTL set to air a local adaptation in 2026.

“Wisdom of the Crowd is an innovative new format and we’re thrilled to see it gaining momentum internationally,” said Matt Forde, president of BBC Studios Global Productions. “Having Spain and now Germany on board shows a lot of early excitement. It is a top-class entertainment show that we hope will resonate and delight audiences around the world.”

Originally commissioned by the BBC in the U.K., the format was first adapted in Spain. Brutal Media, part of BBC Studios Global Production, is producing the Spanish adaptation, known locally as Los 200: One Against the Crowd, for Telecinco.

“We’re delighted that Germany is joining the U.K. and Spain to find out if any brave individuals can take on the Wisdom of the Crowd and win,” said Andy Auerbach of Magnum Productions. “Produced by the same BBC Studios team that has made The 1% Club such a success in Germany, the show couldn’t be in better hands.”

Wisdom of the Crowd will air on BBC One in the U.K., with the date to be announced in the future. It will air in prime time on Telecinco in Spain and on RTL in Germany.
