DR Renews Alone for Tenth Season

ITV Denmark has begun production on a tenth season of its adaptation of A+E Global Media Group’s Alone for DR1.

“We are so thrilled that DR has commissioned Alone Denmark for a tenth season, with our unrivaled partners at ITV ready to produce another season of the most authentic reality competition format in the market,” said Ninder Billing, VP of unscripted international co-productions at A+E Global Media. “A+E is very proud of Alone, which has continued to go from strength to strength as it premieres in vastly different territories, crossing language and cultural boundaries to find an audience ready to find people who could be their next-door neighbors, face these extraordinary challenges and emerge triumphant.”

“Year after year, Alone continues to attract a wide audience spanning multiple demographics across prime-time linear, on-demand and streaming, who can’t get enough of this unique, compelling format,” said Irene Strøyer, commissioning editor at DR. “Alone is the ultimate test of human will: nowhere else can you witness the triumph of the human spirit over nature with no camera crews and no gimmicks, in the most stunning, one-of-a-kind locations on earth.”

Produced by ITV Denmark, Alone Denmark (Alene i vildmarken) is the first Scandinavian adaptation of the A+E Global Media Group format Alone. The series takes survival enthusiasts and drops them off in undisclosed remote locations, equipped with just ten survival tools of their choosing plus enough camera gear to self-document their experiences facing total isolation and punishing conditions.
