A+E Media Group has expanded its hit franchise Alone into Germany, where Alone: Überlebe die Wildnis has been greenlit for production by RTL+.

To be produced by ITV Studios Germany, Alone: Überlebe die Wildnis joins a list of adaptations around the world that also includes Australia and the U.K. A second season of Alone Australia has been ordered by SBS Australia, produced by ITV Studios Australia, after the first season became the most-watched original commission in the channel’s history earlier this year.

SBS also picked up the first season of Alone’s most recent commission, Alone UK, along with TVNZ+ in New Zealand and The History Channel in the U.S., which recently aired its tenth season with an 11th currently in production.

The format has been optioned in France, Finland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Japan and Korea.

“These new territories reflect how Alone’s unique format resonates with audiences around the world, with each local series becoming a must-watch, returnable success,” said Ninder Billing, VP of unscripted international co-productions at A+E Media Group. “We’re excited to broaden and enrich the Alone universe.”
