BBC Studios Productions Australia has appointed Lexi Landsman as development executive for unscripted.

Landsman joins a team developing formats and originals across factual, entertainment and reality. Landsman was formerly head of development for unscripted at Fremantle Australia. Prior to that, Landsman was a senior development producer at ITV Studios.

The unscripted division of BBC Studios Productions Australia is currently in production on Top Gear Australia for Paramount +, Dancing With the Stars for Seven Network and Mastermind for SBS. A second series of the hit quiz show The 1% Club is currently on air on Seven Network, and a third series has already been commissioned. The Great Australian Bake Off season eight will screen on Lifestyle/Binge later this year.

Kylie Washington, general manager and creative director at BBC Studios Productions Australia, said: “Lexi is an accomplished and experienced television executive with an in-depth knowledge of the global unscripted marketplace and a proven track record of adapting and refreshing existing formats as well as developing original programs, and I’m delighted that she is joining the team. Our unscripted business has gone from strength to strength under Deb’s leadership and now is the right time to further bolster the team to continue our growth.”

Landsman said: “I am thrilled to be joining the BBC Studios team, who have grown exponentially over the past five and a half years, with the creation of 600 hours of television. I look forward to working with Deb [Spinocchia] and Kylie, and continuing their expansion of the unscripted slate of innovative and bold ideas, spanning factual, reality and entertainment.”
