Reporting improved ad revenues in its key markets of Germany, France and the Netherlands, RTL Group said overall Q1 revenues were stable at 1.4 billion euros ($1.7 billion), while profit was down 19 percent to 111 million euros ($131 million).

Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and FremantleMedia were strong contributors to the growth in RTL Group’s profit in 2017.

In the second quarter of 2017, RTL Group’s revenue was up by 8.8 percent, mainly driven by the FremantleMedia drama American Gods and the strong performances of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and digital businesses.

RTL Group's Q1 revenue was down 1.9 percent to €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion), solely due to the absence of American Idol, which more than offset higher revenue from Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, Groupe M6 and the growing digital business.

LUXEMBOURG: Marcel Reichart is planning to leave Bertelsmann and RTL Group at the end of March, with the RTL Digital Hub to be led by Co-CEO Guillaume de Posch and future Co-CEO Bert Habets going forward.
