NENT Group Appoints Richard Halliwell NENT Studios UK MD

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has appointed Richard Halliwell as managing director of the newly formed NENT Studios UK.

With this new role, Halliwell will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of NENT Studios UK, which comprises NENT Group’s content production and distribution businesses in the region. His remit will include the development, funding and distribution of scripted and non-scripted content for the global market as NENT Studios UK looks to make substantial content investments in the U.K. and internationally, primarily for the Viaplay streaming service. Halliwell will report to Jakob Mejlhede Andersen, CEO of NENT Studios UK.

In addition to serving as NENT Studios UK managing director, Halliwell will continue in his current position as CEO of DRG. Andersen was previously based in Los Angeles as NENT Group’s head of content.
