STOCKHOLM: Nice Entertainment Group has decided to merge its Danish subsidiaries Gong and Strix, as Gong's founder and CEO, Joachim Majholm, exits the company.

Strix’s current CEO, Fredrik Hillerbrand, will now take on the responsibility for the entire Danish business unit. Together, the two companies currently have 14 TV series in production. Gong and Strix will within a short period of time announce its new management.

Hillerbrand said: “Both Gong and Strix are on a steep development curve and we are really, a perfect match. Gong is very strong in the factual genre and complements Strix within the entertainment genre, where Strix is famous for their reality and lifestyle programs. Common to both companies are very passionate employees who are all driven by a strong desire to tell stories. I’m really looking forward to create a new production company together with the talented employees from Gong and Strix in a perfect harmony.”

Majholm commented: “It has been an amazing journey since I started Gong six years ago. We have told some important stories, entertained millions of viewers, created a great business as well as a lot of jobs.  Even though I have decided to move on to new challenges, I am sure that Gong’s employees and spirit has a bright future with Fredrik as new boss.”

Morten Aass, the CEO and president Nice Entertainment Group, said, “It has been a pleasure working with Joachim during these years and it is with sadness I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. However, given both companies’ profiles, the conditions for a successful merger could not be better. Together, Gong and Strix will be able to focus even more resources on developing and producing strong concepts for the Danish market. Many of which, hopefully, will have international potential.”
