LONDON: TalkTalk has extended its deal with Sky, allowing it to continue offering the Sky Sports and Sky Movies channels to its YouView customers for another two years.

The deal announced today also includes catch-up content for the channels. Sky and TalkTalk have been working together in this wholesale agreement since 2012. This year the partnership was extended to include a broad selection of Sky's entertainment channels in TalkTalk pay-TV homes for another three years, plus on-demand catchup content from channels such as Sky 1, Sky Living and Sky Arts.

On the sports end, the new deal means that TalkTalk’s Sky Sports customers will soon be able to access the new Sky Sports 5 channel, delivering up to 600 live European football matches a season. In addition, through Sky Sports Box Office, TalkTalk can allow customers to purchase live boxing and wrestling events.

"As TalkTalk TV goes from strength to strength, we are delighted to have expanded our partnership with Sky even further," said Tristia Harrison, consumer managing director at TalkTalk. "Our customers love the ability to dip in and out of the TV they love and this new agreement means we can continue to offer the flexible access to great content we are fast becoming famous for."

Mai Fyfield, group director of strategy and business development at Sky, added: “We’re delighted to be extending our wholesale partnership with TalkTalk to offer their customers access to even more great content from Sky. As we continue to increase our investment in high-quality TV, we want to continue to broaden the distribution of our content and grow our content-related revenues. We look forward to TalkTalk customers being able to continue to enjoy the best of Sky, including the brand-new Sky Sports 5 channel launching next month."
