LONDON: British broadband, telephony and mobile provider TalkTalk has announced deals with Sky and UKTV to add channels from both operators to the Internet-delivered YouView platform launching in the U.K. later this year.

The deal with UKTV will bring all of the branded channels from the BBC Worldwide-Scripps Networks International venture to YouView, plus selected on-demand content, initially from Eden and Good Food.

Max Alexander, managing director of TV at TalkTalk, noted, “Adding UKTV’s suite of channels to our TV offering is great news for our customers. Our TV service offers all the best content at a great price and we are delighted to be working with UKTV.”

YouView will also offer Sky’s channels, including Sky 1, Sky Living, Sky Arts 1 & 2, Sky News, Sky Sports News, Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and 4, Sky Sports F1 and the full suite of Sky Movies channels. SVOD content from Sky Anytime will also be available, as well as the new Internet service NOW TV. "Being able to offer a range of the most popular premium channels with the flexibility of being able to purchase content one month at a time is going to be hugely popular with our base and offers a great value addition to our YouView service," Alexander said.
