ZDFE Touts New Highlights for Four Genre Divisions

MAINZ: ZDF Enterprises has added a number of new programs to its four genre divisions: ZDFE.junior, ZDFE.drama, ZDFE.factual and ZDFE.entertainment.

From ZDFE.junior, there are shows spanning different age groups. For tweens there is Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures, a live-action series. For preschoolers, the company is presented Q Pootle 5, produced for CBeebies. Knight Rusty is aimed at kids 6 to 10.

ZDFE.drama is presenting the second season of Bron, which inspired the U.S. remake The Bridge. There’s also Talking to the Dead, set in Cardiff, Wales, and based on a novel by Harry Bingham. The Belgian production Clan is about five sisters why try to kill their brother-in-law.

The ZDFE.factual lineup includes Countdown to a Catastrophe, from Gruppe 5 Filmproduktion. Lost Treasures of the Silk Road looks at how envoys from the major Western were sent to China in the early 20th century to steal valuable cultural treasures.

Formats represent an important part of the portfolio. ZDFE.entertainment is presenting Your Song, in which youngsters present their original songs to a TV audience. The quiz show Dalli Dalli pits two teams of celebs against one another in competitions full of humor and suspense.
