NATPE Budapest Slates New Conference Activities

BUDAPEST: The upcoming edition of NATPE Budapest, to be held from June 24 to 27, will feature extended hours, more networking events and unique concierge meeting services.

Additions include a daily breakfast briefing session between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the Café Gerbeaud. The session will look at the opportunities and challenges of reversioning programming across all genres in Central and Eastern Europe. Antony Root, the executive VP of original programming and production at HBO Europe, is already lined up as a speaker.

There will be a networking reception at the Paris Restaurant at the Sofitel Chain Bridge on Tuesday, June 25, at 6 p.m. An "invitation only" screening from major studios will take place on Monday through Tuesday.

The event will also feature an innovative meeting concierge service for attendees. The NATPE Navigator customer service initiative will assist buyers and sellers attending the market with scheduling meetings, among other tasks.

NATPE’s president and CEO, Rod Perth, commented, “We are looking forward to returning to Budapest this summer. The dynamic CEE market is becoming ever more important for the global content industry. There is an increased desire for international content owners to sell into the region and, with a significant growth in local production, for CEE producers to sell their shows and ideas to other broadcasters both internationally and cross border within the region. NATPE Budapest offers a truly 360-degree opportunity for members of the global content business. We are particularly pleased to introduce a briefing session at the start of our market—which we expect to be over-subscribed—which will offer a deep insight into the region and the huge opportunities that reversioning of material can deliver.”
