Paramount+ Makes Scripted Acquisitions for U.K. & Ireland

Paramount+ is building its slate of exclusive acquisitions for the U.K. and Ireland, with additions such as Minx and Son of a Critch.

Paramount+ will premiere in the U.K. and Ireland the hit comedies Home Economics, Minx and Son of a Critch, acquired from Lionsgate. It licensed the drama La Brea from NBCUniversal Global Distribution and picked up Chapelwaite from Sony Pictures Television and Savage River from Dynamic Television.

The new slate of Paramount+ exclusives will roll out on the service beginning in August.

Anna-Belen Dunlop, senior director of acquisitions at Paramount UK, said: “We are working hard to make Paramount+ the exclusive home of premium content from around the world. Paramount+ already brings together entertainment’s biggest names, but we’ll keep building our offering to make the service completely irresistible to audiences.”
