Paramount+ is planning to launch in France on December 1, followed by Germany, Austria and Switzerland on December 8.

Audiences in these countries will gain access to exclusive Paramount+ originals and hit shows and blockbuster movies across every genre from Paramount’s brands and production studios, including Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Showtime and the Smithsonian Channel.

The service will also offer a lineup of local content in both regions. Over time, audiences will be introduced to titles such as Mask: Marie Antionette Serial Killer, an eight-hour young adult fantasy horror thriller; The Signal (Le Siglan), a mystery based on the best-selling novel by Maxime Chattam; and Le Stade, which follows the Stade Toulousain rugby team as they face the most ambitious challenge in its history.

Upon launch in France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Paramount+ will become available online on a wide range of connected TV devices via distribution through Apple, Amazon, Google, Samsung, Roku, mobile devices and more.

Paramount+ will also launch on Sky platforms in Germany and Austria as part of a new multiyear distribution agreement. Sky subscribers with Sky Cinema will have access to Paramount+ content at no additional cost, and the Paramount+ standalone app will also launch on Sky Q.

Marco Nobili, executive VP and international general manager of Paramount+, said: Paramount+ is rapidly expanding its presence globally, bringing the audience a unique content offering with the biggest stars and most compelling global and local stories. With these launches, Paramount+ will continue to see major growth across Europe, becoming one of the top players worldwide.”
