Tobias Rosen has been named VP of Sky Studios Deutschland, a newly created role that will oversee a slate of scripted originals across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Currently executive producer at Warner Bros. International Television Production in Germany, Rosen has been responsible for acquiring, developing and producing a wide range of projects, including Sultan City (Disney+), Love Addicts (Amazon Prime Video) and Club Las Piranjas 2.0 (RTL+). Prior to this, Rosen served as producer at Relevant Film.

Set to join Sky Studios in the fall, Rosen will report to Nils Hartmann, executive VP of Sky Studios Deutschland and Italia. Rosen will also work closely with Elke Walthelm, Sky Deutschland’s executive VP of content, plus Sky’s wider content teams in the U.K. and Italy.

Additionally, Frank Jastfelder will take on a newly created role of director of development, enabling him to focus on identifying and developing new projects for Sky Studios by deepening and expanding its development slate across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The role, which reports to Rosen, builds on Jastfelder’s track record in developing and exec producing some of Sky’s biggest original dramas of recent years, including Der Pass, Das Boot and upcoming series Souls and Munich Match.

Rosen said: “Sky’s ambition to produce even more world-class content, collaborating with and showcasing German talent on the global stage was too good an opportunity to pass up. I have long admired Sky’s original content and can’t wait to get started later this year.”

Hartmann said: “Tobias is a brilliant creative executive with strong talent relationships and deep knowledge of what our customers want across our German-speaking markets. As we target even more ambitious projects with greater scale across Sky Group, Tobias’ track record in producing premium, talked-about content will enable us to meet that ambition.”
