Banijay has appointed Antonia Gilham as group director for music and secondary rights, leading the setting and executing of the company’s global strategy in this space.

In her new role, Gilham will give full-service support for parts of Banijay’s 22-territory footprint, in addition to providing strategic guidance for the vast majority of the group’s more than 120 production labels globally. Identifying key opportunities via the business’ growing IP pipeline, she will also concentrate on new avenues for commercial growth.

Gilham will report to Chief Commercial Officer Owain Walbyoff, who oversees its Banijay Brands operations.

Prior to joining Banijay, Gilham was VP of music at app and game developer/publisher Gismart. She was previously general manager for Music Publishers Association. She has also held roles at Musixmatch, Sony Music Entertainment and PRS for Music.

Walbyoff said: “Antonia has a breadth of experience in the music space, spanning rights, governance, exploitation and strategy. Ambitious and commercially astute, she is a great asset for our team, and I’ve no doubt she will thrive in further building the group’s capabilities and successes in this area.”

Gilham added: “Banijay has a significant catalog of globally-renowned titles and a healthy flow of new IP, signaling so much opportunity in the music and rights world. With innovation and creativity at its core, I’m looking forward to partnering with Owain on building out a strong strategy, which maximizes commercial growth opportunities for the group.”
