STV Production Strengthens Management Team

Scandinavia-based STV Production has bolstered its organization with a trio of new appointments.

Daniel Svarts, the company’s current head of fiction, has been elevated to VP. He will enter into the cross-functional management of STV’s companies in Denmark, Norway and Sweden and be part of the common board of directors comprised of CCO Maria Thastum, CFO Kent Pedersen, COO Jens Villebro and founder, CEO René Szczyrbak.

Formerly head of event and factual, Jonatan Jerichow is now STV’s head of programming. He will strengthen the management of STV’s executive producers across event, factual entertainment, crime/documentary, lifestyle and reality genres. Maria Hee Dreyer, who served as showrunner on The First Years and Across the Line, has been tapped to be head of scripted.

CCO Maria Thastum said: “The demand for more content on the Scandinavian market in this time of streaming requires a more synergy-driven operation between programming and production as well as an increased focus on fiction and documentary.
