Marcus Ryder Hosting MacTaggart Interview with David Olusoga

Journalist and industry campaigner Marcus Ryder is set to chat with David Olusoga for the MacTaggart Interview next month.

The MacTaggart Interview is part of the Edinburgh TV Festival’s year-round events program and will stream live for free on YouTube on October 13. The new iteration of the Post MacTaggart Q&A, the interview will allow for considered discussion around the lecture’s themes, taking in the immediate and longer-term reaction.

During this year’s digital festival, Olusoga delivered a personal lecture on the crisis in diversity facing the TV industry, touching on his own experiences of racism, the resultant struggles with his mental health and the wider problem of retention of people of color within the industry. Ryder will lead an in-depth discussion with Olusoga, dissecting the thinking behind the lecture, the immediate impact it had and looking forward to what happens next and the lasting legacy of the powerful wake-up call.
