Germany’s Bundesliga, which has been on pause amid the global health crisis, has been given the green light to return on May 16.

The Bundesliga was suspended on the eve of matchday 26 on March 13. The DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga) agreed to continue with the standard calendar.

The final matchdays of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 are scheduled for June 27 and 28, respectively.

Games will be held behind closed doors amid a ban on mass gatherings in Germany until August 31.

The DFL also announced that the second wave of coronavirus testing scheduled before the start of team training is now complete, comprising 1,695 tests.
