U.K. to Exit Creative Europe Program

The U.K. will not be seeking to participate in the next Creative Europe program, due to start in January 2021.

The move will not affect projects funded under the current program—which runs from 2014-2020—which will receive funding for their full duration under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement, including projects that continue after January 1, 2021.

On January 31, 2020, the U.K. officially left the EU. As guaranteed by the Withdrawal Agreement, a legislative act passed by both U.K. and European Parliaments and ratified by the EU Commission and the UK Government, U.K. organizations can continue to apply for Creative Europe funding until the current program ends in December 2020. Creative Europe contracts awarded during or prior to this period will cover the entire duration of the project.
