Netflix Ramps Up Slate of Spanish Originals

Netflix has revealed seven upcoming titles from Spain, including a documentary feature about Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) and the musical competition Sing on!

Coming to the service is a new documentary feature that explores the global phenomenon around Money Heist, created by Álex Pina. It will be released on April 3, coinciding with the launch of La Casa de Papel Part 4Sing on! is a new musical contest in which six contestants test their abilities singing popular songs. The prize is up to 30,000 euros that will build as they prove who is more in tune and beat different phases.

There are five new original projects coming to Netflix in 2021-22 that will be produced in Spain. These include two series: Jaguar, featuring Blanca Suárez, and the first series created by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo. The other three are films: Amor de madre, directed by Paco Caballero (Off course to China) with Carmen Machi (Criminal) and Quim Gutiérrez (The Neighbour); a new movie from director Dani de la Orden (Elite); and Fuimos Canciones, an adaptation from Elísabet Benavent novels Canciones y recuerdos.
