Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland Scores UEFA Europa League Rights

Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland has landed the TV rights to the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League, beginning with the 2021-22 season.

The three-year pact, which runs until May 24, guarantees exclusive rights to both tournaments for RTL Television and Nitro, plus the video portal TV Now, in Germany. RTL scored all three rights packages from UEFA, covering 282 matches per season. (RTL currently shares the rights with streaming service DAZN). The whole package includes both free- and pay-TV rights.

Given the background of an increasingly competitive market, the fact that we have secured exclusive and full rights for two European competitions sends out a powerful signal. We are very pleased that RTL and Nitro, our channel aimed at men, will continue to be the exclusive address for exciting European Cup nights on free-to-air television. In addition, the TV Now package, as a leading, comprehensive streaming service, will be even bigger and even more popular.”
