MUBI, a curated global streaming service and theatrical distributor, has picked up the rights to Małgorzata Szumowska’s English-language debut The Other Lamb for the U.K. and Ireland.

A haunting and nightmarish tale, The Other Lamb tells the story of Selah (Raffey Cassidy; Vox Lux, The Killing of a Sacred Deer), a young girl born into an all-female religious group known as The Flock led by a man known as Shepherd (Michiel Huisman, Game of Thrones). After meeting an outcast wife (Denise Gough; Jimmy’s Hall, Colette), Selah takes part in a shocking and transformative ritual and begins to experience strange visions and question the reality of everything around her.

The Other Lamb is directed by Szumowska. It is produced by Academy Award nominee David Lancaster and Stephanie Wilcox of Rumble Films together with Aoife O’Sullivan and Tristan Orpen Lynch of Subotica, Danish producer Marie Gade Denessen of Zentropa and in co-production with Umedia. Executive produced by Julia Godzinskaya, Will Norton and Sophie Vickers of Rooks Nest Entertainment and Jon Shiffman and Andrew Schwartzberg of Rumble Films, the film is made with the participation of Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and is an official Irish-Belgian co-production.

Efe Cakarel, founder and CEO of MUBI, said: ”Małgorzata’s vision is striking, bold and vital—we are thrilled to be working with one of the most exciting new Polish voices on her English-language debut as we continue MUBI’s commitment to championing emerging talent.”
