BBC Studios Bolsters Production Team with New Hire

BBC Studios has appointed Lisa McCormack to the position of director of production for its entertainment and music division.

Reporting to Suzy Lamb, managing director of entertainment and music at BBC Studios, McCormack will help execute the business and commercial strategy for the division, as well as lead the production and business teams in developing and delivering BBC Studios’ commissions. The entertainment and music division is behind productions such as Strictly Come Dancing, Later… with Jools Holland, Eurovision and Glastonbury.

McCormack joins BBC Studios from Whizz Kid Entertainment, which she had worked at since 2010. She held the role of head of production and was responsible for all aspects of production and development for various shows, including Ex on the Beach, Lip Sync Battle UK, the BAFTA Film and Television Awards and Let’s Dance for Comic Relief.

Prior to joining Whizz Kid, she worked at MTV Networks International in a variety of roles, including production executive, line producer, executive producer, head of production and was also VP of production between 2000 and 2008.

Lamb said: “Lisa comes with extensive knowledge of global entertainment and music productions and a proven commercial track record. I’m delighted she is taking on this important new role and will be working with me to manage entertainment and music content that audiences love.”
