After 11 years, Merete Eldrup is planning to exit her post as CEO of Denmark’s TV 2.

Eldrup is stepping down to pursue a board career. She is currently a member of the board of directors of Nykredit, Rambøll and Gyldendal.

Eldrup will remain in the post until TV 2 has found a proper replacement. She was appointed CEO at TV 2 in December 2007.

“TV 2 is a unique company populated by fantastic people who have been part of my everyday life for many years,” Eldrup said. “I’ve loved my time at TV 2, and that’s why it’s a very difficult decision I’ve made. However, I have the attitude that you are good at moving yourself new places, and although it may be difficult to find the right timing for such great decisions, now is a good time. Both for TV 2, which is financially, content-wise and strategically strong, and for myself. I want to be more active in board work and believe that I will enjoy joining my working life together in a new way in the coming years.”
