Ukrainian Adaptation of Ringer in the Works

Star Media is producing the 16-episode detective thriller The Other, based on the U.S. series Ringer, for the channel Ukraine.

The Other is part family drama, part psychological thriller and an adventure detective story. Dmitriy Laktionov (Women in Love) is directing. The show is based on the format Ringer, which aired on The CW in the U.S. from September 2011 to April 2012 and starred Sarah Michelle Gellar. Natali Starynkevich (Glukhar, Shram) is starring in the Ukrainian version.

“It is a stunning combination of genres,” said Laktionov. “I’ve already done some detectives, thrillers and melodramas, but it’s the first time I’ve work on such a cocktail. And all of these are the elements of a complex story, puzzles one has to put together at the end.”

Ringer was produced by CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television in association with ABC Television Studios and Brillstein Entertainment. The series and scripted format are distributed by CBS Studios International.
