Awesome Taps Jane Steventon for U.K. Scripted

Awesome Media & Entertainment has hired Jane Steventon as a development producer to work across U.K. scripted, covering both children’s and adult content.

Steventon produced the iconic kids’ series The Story of Tracy Beaker and the film Tracy Beaker’s The Movie of Me. She was also a producer on the hit U.K. dramas Hollyoaks Later and Casualty. At Awesome, Steventon will be working directly with the company’s founder, Jeff Norton, across the growing development slate of both original and adapted IP.

Steventon will lead Awesome’s adaptation of the literary novel The Last Wave together with ex-BBC Studios executive Fraser Robinson and develop TV adaptations of Awesome’s best-selling book series Princess Ponies and MetaWars.

Norton said: “We are thrilled to welcome Jane on board as we begin to expand our slate of scripted output. Jane’s knowledge of producing within the U.K. scripted landscape cross both kids and adult content will be invaluable during this next stage of growth for Awesome.”

Steventon added: “I am thrilled to be working with Jeff as Awesome continues to expand and take on exciting content in the children’s and adult scripted space. I’m looking forward to collaborating with partners in the international arena and can’t wait to get started.”
