Banijay Launches Studio in Italy for Scripted Content

Banijay Group has set up Banijay Studios Italy in Rome, tapping Massimo Del Frate, former head of drama at Endemol Shine Italy, to lead the new venture.

Banijay Studios Italy will focus on the production of scripted content for local broadcasters and OTT platforms. The outfit will develop original IP for Italian channels, while also looking at opportunities to locally adapt Banijay Group’s global catalog.

Del Frate joins Banijay Group from Endemol Shine Italy, where he was head of drama, responsible for growing the scripted division from 2002 to 2018. Previously, he was responsible for scripted operations at Mediaset’s Canal 5.
