The City of Cannes and the Université Côte d’Azur are joining forces with Banijay Group to launch a new content creation training program.

Together, the entities are growing the Cannes University offering by funding a short and intensive program in multimedia content creation. The program will see teams composed of students or recent graduates hosted for three weeks in Cannes, where they will focus on creating new audiovisual programs for linear and non-linear TV. The teams will be coached by experts from Université Côte d’Azur and its international network, and global audiovisual specialists from Banijay Group.

The hands-on program is specifically geared towards the employability of the participants, who will be selected through a network of prestigious French businesses and social science schools associated with the project. At the end of the three-week program, the teams will present their project at a final pitch event to a jury composed of the scheme’s partners and global producers from Banijay Group. The winning team has the chance of being offered internships or fixed-term contracts at the Banijay Group alongside the opportunity to develop the project created in the program.

Per a tentative schedule, partnership agreements are to signed and applications opened in early April 2020, followed by an announcement of the selected candidates in June 2020. The residency program is slated to take place in October and November.
