The Crown, National Treasure Up for Edinburgh TV Awards

The Edinburgh International Television Festival, presented by YouTube and BT, has revealed the shortlist of nominations for the Edinburgh TV Awards, which sees The Crown vying for the honor of new program of the year.

The Crown is up against National Treasure, Interview with a Murderer, Flowers, Apple Tree Yard and Slum Britain: 50 Years On for new program of the year.

The nominees for best international co-production are The Young Pope, Humans, The Tunnel: Sabotage and Medici: Masters of Florence.

The programs nominated in the factual category are Grayson Perry: All Man, The Real Marigold Hotel, Portrait Artist of the Year, Gangland, SAS: Who Dares Wins and Employable Me.

Kudos, Left Bank Pictures, Twofour, World Productions, Fulwell 73 and ITN Productions will battle it out for the honor of production company of the year. The channel of the year award will be presented to one of the following contenders: BBC One, Sky Atlantic, BBC Two, Channel 5, BBC Three and Channel 4.

Festival Director Lisa Campbell said: “Our panel of industry experts had to make some tough choices to pick the shortlist from hundreds of entries, so congratulations to all those nominated. It’s been another incredible year of creative excellence so I’d like to wish everyone the best of luck for the final round of judging.”
