Ex-BBC Exec Jessica Pope Joins Carnival Films

LONDON: Carnival Films, which was behind the global hit Downton Abbey, has appointed Jessica Pope as executive producer.

Pope joins Carnival Films from BBC Studios, where she was executive producer. She previously held roles at BBC Drama London and then BBC Drama Salford. Pope has developed and produced a range of high-profile dramas, including Good Cop, Hawking, When I’m 64, The State Within and the BBC hits The Musketeers and Silent Witness.

In her new post, Pope will be reporting to Gareth Neame, the managing director of Carnival Films. She will be responsible for developing her own programming whilst working alongside fellow executive producers Nigel Marchant and Richard Fell on Carnival’s growing production slate.

Neame said: “It’s great to have Jessica joining the team. She is a gifted executive and talented producer with an extensive track record of bringing successful dramas to the screen. I am sure that she will play a key role in Carnival’s growth at such an exciting time for the company.”
