LONDON: Comedy Central UK has ordered a third season of the live-action comedy series Drunk History for broadcast early next year.

The U.K. version of Drunk History sees intoxicated British comedians narrate their favorite historical stories while a variety of celebrities perform corresponding reenactments. The 8×30-minute new season was developed by Matt Tiller, Comedy Central UK’s head of development. It is being directed and produced by Tom McKay and Ben Rogers, respectively, with Andy Brereton serving as executive producer for Tiger Aspect Productions.

Louise Holmes, the VP of programming at Comedy Central UK, remarked: “Drunk History is a really noisy, brand-defining show for Comedy Central that’s great fun to make. Filming on [season] three has begun and we’ve got some exciting names lining up to get soddenly drunken in the name of history.”

Rogers added: “We’re thrilled to be back on the bottle for a third [season]. We love making this show, and are looking forward to taking a more foggy look at history than ever before.”
