LONDON: Nicholas Yearwood, a founding member of Idris Elba’s production company Green Door Pictures, has joined Woodcut Media and Duchess Street Productions as a consultant executive producer.

Yearwood will work as a consultant executive producer for both companies, which are part of the Bob & Co investment portfolio of businesses, developing scripted and non-scripted programming. He will also continue to develop his own independent projects. Previously, Yearwood was at Green Door Pictures, which launched in 2014. He was responsible for executive producing a range of non-scripted programming, including the Sky series Ones to Watch, the Idris Elba-directed short Beats of the Beautiful Game and documentary films such as Mandela, My Dad and Me.

Yearwood commented: “It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to drive the growth of Green Door Pictures for nearly three amazing years. With the company firmly established and in rude health, I feel now is the right time to explore a variety of interesting and exciting opportunities elsewhere. Following two successful co-productions with Woodcut, I’m delighted to be continuing that relationship and look forward to further developments with Duchess Street.”

Kate Beal, CEO of Woodcut Media, added: “In recent years we have developed a fantastic rapport with Nicholas whilst working together on docs such as Mandela, My Dad and Me, and Cut From A Different Cloth. His creative vision and production values are aligned with Woodcut’s, and we look forward to his collaboration on various upcoming projects.”

Donna Wiffen, the managing director of Duchess Street Productions, said: “We are proud to support new and diverse talent, and look forward to working with Nicholas on some high-end original ideas with both established and newer talent. We are confident his creative flare and confidence in storytelling will prove invaluable.”
