Trio of New Commissioning Editors for Channel 4’s All 4

LONDON: Channel 4 has appointed Joshua Buckingham, Pegah Farahmand and Thom Gulseven as commissioning editors for the free on-demand service All 4, effective this summer.

Buckingham, Farahmand and Gulseven will work under Charlie Palmer, the managing editor of All 4. They are charged with commissioning and curating a variety of themed collections, including original and acquired shorts, mid- and long-form programs. The content will be featured alongside live TV, catch-up from Channel 4’s broadcast networks and box sets of iconic series.

The All 4 commissioning team will collaborate with Richard Davidson-Houston, head of All 4 and digital content. Editorial leadership for original content will be handled by Ralph Lee, deputy chief creative officer. The commissioning team will also work with All 4 editors Todd Florance, Lizzy Keene and Daisy Mount.

Buckingham previously served as a producer for Endemol Shine Group. Farahmand joined Channel 4 from Vice Media last year as editor for Random Acts, a role she will continue to hold in addition to her new duties at All 4. Gulseven was a senior producer for Channel 4 Online and has also served in content editor positions at MSN and Elsevier.

Palmer commented: “Joshua, Pegah and Thom share a passion for pushing the boundaries in how stories can be told in an ever-changing landscape. Their collective experience and individual brilliance will, I’m certain, ensure All 4 becomes a destination of choice for audiences, young and old. If this isn’t a dream team, then shoot me now.”

Buckingham said: “Ten years ago I was making content for mobile phones that no one could download so it’s with great relief that times, viewing habits and technology have changed. I believe that Channel 4 has developed a really exciting vision and I can’t wait to get started.”

Farahmand noted: “I’ve spent the last year or so at the channel watching All 4 grow and evolve into what is an incredibly innovative platform for digital content. It’s a real honor to be joining the team and to be part of building its future.”

Gulseven added: “I totally love the fact that audiences online enjoy reveling in their own niches and communities. I’m excited to play my part in serving some of those big communities with All 4.”
