HBO Nordic Taps Former Danish Film Institute, SVT Exec

STOCKHOLM: Hanne Palmquist, who has worked at Danish Film Institute and SVT, has been named commissioning editor and VP of original programming at HBO Nordic.

Palmquist will join HBO Nordic in the newly created position on August 1. She will be based in Copenhagen and report to Antony Root, the executive VP of original programming and production at HBO Europe.

Palmquist previously worked as the commissioning editor for feature films at the Danish Film Institute, responsible for script development and production of new feature film projects. She has also held senior positions at SVT in Sweden and Nordisk Film & TV Fond in Norway.

The breadth and depth of her experience in Scandinavia’s film and television industries, and her strong relationships with the creative and production communities in all the countries, will be an invaluable asset to HBO as we start to develop and commission original programming for our Nordic subscribers.”
