ROME: Fabrizio Salini is set to step down from his role as managing director of FOX International Channels (FIC) Italy at the end of next month, with industry veteran Kathryn Fink tapped to replace him.

Salini, who’d worked with FIC Italy since 2003, is leaving the company to pursue a new opportunity. The executive headed up the Fox Entertainment Channels as well as marketing and on-air promotions before taking the helm as managing director in 2014.

Fink will take over the role starting January 1. She has held high-profile roles within News Corp. & Sky Italia, becoming a key player in the launch of Sky Italia in 2003. After initially working on the merger of Stream and Telepiu, she subsequently became head of programming and in this role managed all third-party channels on the Sky Italia platform as well as Sky’s owned and operated cinema and entertainment channels.

“Fabrizio has played a key role during the launch and growth of FIC Italy,” said Diego Londono, the COO of FIC Europe and Africa. It’s with the greatest respect that I thank him for all he has done and wish him the best for the future.”

Jan Koeppen, the president and CEO of FIC Europe and Africa, remarked: “Fabrizio is a creative force and has made a substantial contribution to our business over many years, most recently with the outstanding launch of Fox Comedy and Fox Animation.”

He continued, “I have always held Kathryn in high regard and she has both the skills and local knowledge to continue to drive the growth of FIC in Italy.”
