LONDON: Entertainment One (eOne) has renewed its content deal with Amazon Video, delivering Amazon Prime U.K. subscribers with exclusive early access to new-release movies.

The eOne slate includes The BFG, directed by Steven Spielberg; David Brent: Life on the Road with Ricky Gervais; Trumbo starring Bryan Cranston and Helen Mirren; and Spotlight, featuring Rachel McAdams and Michael Keaton. All will be exclusively accessible to Amazon Prime members in the U.K. a few months after their theatrical releases.

A previous pact between the two companies gave Amazon Prime U.K users access to films like The Twilight Saga and Divergent franchises, 12 Years a Slave, The Impossible and Gnomeo and Juliet.

"We are thrilled to extend our relationship with Amazon,” said Alex Hamilton, the managing director of eOne Films UK. “We have some fantastic films coming over the next couple of years, and the fact that Prime Video will have them exclusively in the first pay window should only make that relationship stronger. It’s a great arrangement for both companies and customers.”

“We’re delighted to bring some of the most exciting new movie releases exclusively to Prime Video just months after their U.K. theatrical release,” added Chris Bird, film and TV strategy director at Amazon Instant Video UK. “eOne has delivered a plethora of BAFTA and Academy Award-winning pictures in recent years and we expect our customers to continue to be delighted by the range and quality of these new releases.”
