WARSAW: The SPI International channel FunBox 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) has increased its slate of native 4K content with new acquisitions from The Boat Show Television and Medina Media.

SPI International has acquired worldwide rights to 20 episodes of The Boat Show. FunBox 4K/UHD has also added two new series from Spain’s Medina Media, a 4K production company. Sea Chef sees Michelin chef Ángel León go fishing to find high-quality seafood. Flamenco Passion also joins the channel’s lineup. Shot in native 4K, the series showcases top flamenco artists performing in Seville’s most renowned venues and live recordings of jazz and symphonic flamenco, as well as coverage of the Flamenco Fashion Week.

Berk Uziyel, the director of new media at SPI International, stated: “As we are investing heavily in expanding our catalogue of native 4K content, we are excited to include these new major acquisitions from The Boat Show Television and Medina Media, thus making our programming offer more diverse. Our goal is to create a 4K/UHD channel with a range of content spanning from various passions and interests catering to a vast number of viewers.”

At MIPCOM, a special presentation of FunBox 4K/UHD will be held as part of the 4K sessions on October 6.
