LONDON: ITV has commissioned Twofour to produce a 6×1-hour prime-time studio entertainment series hosted by Davina McCall.

McCall will meet people from across the U.K. who pledge to change something about their lives over the course of 12 months. The pledges take many forms, from finding love to becoming a parent to losing half their body weight. This Time Next Year will showcase these transformations in an instantaneous time travel-style format, wherein once each pledge is made, the contributor leaves the studio to begin the challenge, and then reappears moments later, completely transformed. Afterwards, the host and viewers learn together how the transformation was achieved.

Andrew Mackenzie, the chief creative officer of the Twofour Group, said: “This series breaks the form of the traditional makeover format in resisting the temptation to document the process of transformation. Instead we've chosen to ignore the typical production model and concentrate instead on delivering reveal after reveal.”

This Time Next Year was commissioned by Elaine Bedell, ITV’s director of entertainment and comedy, and Amanda Stavri, ITV’s entertainment commissioner. MacKenzie and Melanie Leach serve as executive producers. Amy Boyle is the producer.
