Turner Broadcasting Taps VIMN’s Vanessa Brookman

LONDON: Turner Broadcasting has appointed Vanessa Brookman, formerly with Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), as VP of content and creative for the U.K. and Northern Europe.

In her newly created role, Brookman will focus on defining and implementing content strategy for the company’s kids' and general entertainment portfolio across the U.K., Nordic and Baltic countries. She will oversee channels, digital, creative and presentation teams of approximately 50 people. Brookman will also be expected to ensure that Turner’s programming output is packaged in an engaging way. She will be based in Turner’s London headquarters and will report to Ian McDonough, the senior VP and managing director of the U.K. and Northern Europe. 

“This [appointment] follows our recent hire of Dan Fahy as senior director of commercial development and demonstrates our commitment to attracting and retaining the best talent,” McDonough said. “The newly created VP of content and creative role also exemplifies our commitment to acquiring and developing the best content for our channels and I am confident that Vanessa’s great track record and experience will be a critical asset. Brookman joins Turner from Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), where she served as VP of programming for MTV and 5* (U.K. cluster). Before that, she worked at BBC Vision as the head of fiction and children’s.
