LONDON: FOX UK has signed an agreement with Turner Broadcasting System to acquire popular Adult Swim content that will air on the channel as part of a weekly branded programming block.

The Adult Swim block on FOX UK will broadcast on Thursdays at 11 p.m. starting September 10. The initial lineup will include Rick and Morty, an animated comedy about an alcoholic scientist and his grandson, and Mr. Pickles, focused on the Goodman family and their demonic dog. Future premieres will include such hits as Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and The Venture Bros., as well as the new programs Black Jesus and Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell.

Jeff Ford, the managing director for FIC UK, commented: "The acquisition of these satirical, riotous new series cements FOX as the home of adult animated and live-action comedy on Thursday nights in the U.K. Fans of Family Guy and American Dad! will be sure to love these irreverent comedies, already cult classics in the U.S."

Humphrey Black, the VP of media distribution at Turner Broadcasting System EMEA, added: "Adult Swim is the top-performing cable channel among U.S. Millennials and we're delighted to be partnering with FOX to bring this hugely popular brand and its abundance of hilarious entertainment to audiences here in the U.K. This is a key part of our broader strategy for bringing Adult Swim to audiences in Europe across multiple platforms."
