PARIS: STUDIOCANAL has separated distribution and production for its TV business unit, in a move to bolster its production of international and local television series.

A reinforced sales and marketing team will operate under the STUDIOCANAL banner, headed by Katrina Neylon, the newly appointed executive VP of sales and marketing for TV series. Neylon spent most of her career in two major studios: Twentieth Century Fox International Television and Disney ABC International Television. Before joining STUDIOCANAL she was the senior VP of sales at Shine International. Neylon will report to Rodolphe Buet, the president of international marketing and distribution. She will join STUDIOCANAL on May 18.

Production will be handled across the in-house labels, including Tandem Productions, Red Production Company, SAM and other third-party partners. Rola Bauer and Nicola Shindler are reporting to Romain Bessi, STUDIOCANAL's COO.

STUDIOCANAL's chairman and CEO, Olivier Courson, said, “This move is a step forward in developing our TV series activity both in production and distribution. This is also a real strategic and ambitious move for Tandem to further develop and produce more international content with European and U.S. partners.”

Bauer, Tandem Productions' CEO, said, "This is the next strategic step in sharpening Tandem’s focus on production and enabling us to increase our output.”
