UKTV Releases On-Demand App for Android

LONDON: British broadcaster UKTV has launched its TV Everywhere app UKTV Play for Android.

The free on-demand service, which is already available for iOS, PC and YouView, gives viewers easy access to watch titles from non-PSB channel Dave, entertainment channel Really and the factual history network Yesterday. Some of the shows currently available for Android include Suits, Storage Hunters UK, Crackanory, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Forbidden History, Inquisition, The Sixties, Crime Stories, Most Haunted and Ghost Adventures, along with a selection of BBC shows.

Dan Fahy, UKTV’s director of commercial and business development, said: “We created UKTV Play so that viewers can watch UKTV’s great shows anytime, anywhere. When we launched UKTV Play on iOS last year, Apple chose to feature it as one of their Best New Apps, which is testament to its popularity, design and functionality. I feel confident the millions of people with Android devices are going to really love it, too.”
