ROME: Italian production company Wildside has launched two new divisions as it looks to expand its international presence, with one focusing on drama series and the other targeting film releases.

Wildside Series is currently working on drama series like Tomorrow Is A Big Day with Mediaset and The Young Pope, which is slated for broadcast locally on Sky Atlantic. Wildside Cinema's current slate includes Limonov, which will be directed by Saverio Costanzo.

Lorenzo Mieli, Wildside's president, said: “We decided to create a new division dedicated to TV series to cope with the tremendous growth this area of the business has experienced and will experience in the future. Wildside Cinema and Wildside Series now require different approaches and creating two separate divisions with diverse talents will enable us to dedicate all necessary energies to do an even better job. Our aim is to expand the portfolios of each division internationally, collaborating with other global production companies to work on new brands, programs and films. We want to be recognized as a valuable company internationally, and to continue delivering the highest level of quality in the industry.”

Mario Gianani, Wildside's CEO, added: “The success of our productions such as The Young Pope has demonstrated the potential for us to expand internationally. There are many opportunities for Wildside on the global stage, and we are keen to continue collaborating with the very best producers and broadcasters across the world.”
