LONDON: Ben Farrell, the head of comedy at Objective Productions, has been appointed as an executive producer for BBC's in-house comedy division, effective September 2014.

Since becoming Objective's head of comedy in 2008, Farrell has exec produced such hit shows as Toast of London, Game Face, Parents, Big Bad World, Pete Versus Life, Kerry, Felix & Murdo and Reggie Perrin. Before that, he served as the company's head of comedy development. Earlier in his career, he was a development producer/executive producer for Talkback.

Myfanwy Moore, controller for BBC comedy production, stated: "I am utterly delighted that Ben will be joining us in BBC Comedy. He has marvelous credentials, great talent relationships and will be a real asset—it is an exciting time here and working with the best talent is part of that."

Farrell added: "I'm honored to have worked with many talented people on some great comedy shows at Objective over the last ten years. But I value the BBC hugely, and the offer to work alongside Myfanwy, in the heartland of U.K. comedy production, was too enticing an opportunity to turn down."
